Hi! I’m Sara, a certified health coach and barre studio owner in Richmond, VA. My journey to this point has not been a straight path; in hindsight however, it is very clear that each step contributed to where I’ve landed.
My passion for teaching has taken many forms over the years, and has been the common thread through everything that I’ve done. I received my Masters in Elementary Education in the Spring of 2010, but unfortunately had to fall back on my undergraduate economics degree given the lack of opportunity in the job market at the time. I then entered the world of banking and became suddenly immersed in the corporate world. It was here that I built upon my interest in nutrition and healthy living, starting a blog as an outlet, from which I could share information and recipes. Soon after, I was offered a position at a local start-up in the natural foods industry, and my interests and career became one.
However, with the outreach of my blog, coupled with the weekly interactions at Health Warrior, I quickly realized that the general public is confused about health. Sure, we all know to exercise, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and get good sleep, but when it comes down to deciphering all of the information the media has to offer, people get lost. And rightfully so. What the blanket approach to health overlooks is that we are all unique, with individual nutritional needs. What works for one person, might not work for you.
In the summer of 2013, I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I received my certification as a Holistic Health Coach. I love being able to help people achieve wellness in order to live more balanced and healthy lives. One of the most important things to understand is that health is a journey, not a destination. Wherever you may be in yours, I’m happy to provide guidance, support and information. Please check out my health coaching program on how we may be able to work together!
