As a seasoned wellness entrepreneur and writer, Sara’s particular background and experience provides her with a unique voice of inspiring and educating others across a variety of holistic health topics.

Sara McGlothlin is a holistic health and nutrition coach, wellness writer, cookbook author, natural foods company founder, and yoga/fitness teacher based in Richmond, VA. Sara’s passion for holistic health and wellness has been the common thread through all of her endeavors over the past decade. Her interests in wellness writing began in 2012 when she started her first healthy living blog, which led her to get certified as a health and nutrition coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She has worked with clients across a variety of areas such as weight loss, emotional eating, food intolerances, digestive issues, and increasing feelings of energy and overall wellbeing. Over the years, she has consistently written for both her personal blog and other publications such as mindbodygreen.

In 2015, she co-founded barReVA, a local boutique barre studio in Richmond, VA, where she continues to teach today.

At the end of 2018, she achieved one of her dreams of landing a cookbook deal, subsequently publishing Gluten-Free Vegan Baking for Every Occasion. The cookbook writing process solidified her love for natural food, recipe creating and photography.

In early 2019, she and her husband Alex launched their natural foods company, Gratisfied, fueled by their desire to make more of an impactful change in the packaged food space. Gratisfied is founded on the mission that there can be a world where nutrition and convenience co-exist. In June of 2020, Sara created her online magazine Healthified and subsequently launched The Healthified Podcast as platforms to share and educate across a variety of holistic health topics.

Before obtaining her certification as a holistic nutrition coach, she worked in sales and marketing in both the banking and natural foods industries. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics, and received her Masters in Elementary Education from Mary Baldwin College. She is also an RYT 200 certified yoga teacher and a certified Baptiste Power Yoga teacher. She loves to cook, bake, read, travel, and hang out at home with her husband and son.
