A Major Shift For Better Nutrition

When reading labels, I often encourage my clients to shift away from noticing the calorie content, to the list of ingredients on box, bag, or package. Food should be thought of as information for your cells, so it is best to understand exactly what kind of information you are putting in to your body.

The ultimate change you can make however, is when you eat those foods provided by nature - those with only one ingredient - labels become a moot point. There isn’t even a list to read! Your body knows exactly what is in an apple, almonds, spinach, salmon, cabbage, and kale. It can “read” this information adequately so to speak. When you move away from eating processed and packaged foods, you will be providing your body with nutrients it can break down and understand.
